Hacking Hacks!

I guess that's what I get for letting my blog lay on the sly all these weeks!

You might have noticed at this point, that:

a) I rarely blog nowadays
b) Every single photo I have ever posted in a post has been replaced with that gross gray knockout image.

And unfortunately, there is no way that I can redo every single post and get them back on again. UG! So, I am making it official, I am retiring the blog. Maybe another day and another time I will revive it again, but differently, of course.

It's been a great few years.

Start to Finish: My 28 Day Gratitude Journey

As some of you might have noticed, I've left the blog empty for a little while. Sometimes you have to sit back in life, and allow things to happen (or not) and then pull up your britches and move onward.

Historically, this is the time of year that my soul is preparing me for the worst time of year for me: Cold weather, holiday's, lost memories and sadness. I know, buzz kill! But it's the truth, and this year my psyche didn't do any prep and I have sunk into the nastiness way sooner than I ever have. But every tipping point has it's breaking point...or whatever it is that they say. And I'm going to get out of this with a smile on my face and gratitude seeping through my veins.

Maybe you're at a point like that in your life? Like you want to run away or drown in your sorrows? Yep, been there, done that and the key word there is done. I am so done with being this way. And today I mark the change.

For the 2nd time in just about a year, I am embarking on a Gratitude Journey. Last year around this time I did it, but I never followed through. Maybe because I wasn't ready...maybe because I said I wasn't ready and even though I tried, the Universe heard me as "Not now". But I'm getting ahead of myself. For those of you unfamiliar with Rhonda Byrne, the least I can say is that she's changed a lot of people's lives. She's written several books (and a movie) about that all powerful G-word, Gratitude. She also wrote a 28-day self-help (for lack of better description) book to help shape your mind into a mind of thankfulness and gratitude.

I'm writing today to encourage those of you who might be ready to a mark a change in your life, to start this same journey, as different as it will be for you, as for me.  If you're interested in purchasing the book to read what she is teaching each day, you can do that here, via her website. (I'm sure you can also find this book in your local bookstore or on Amazon.)

She asks that we write down (yes, you can do it on your iPad) what we want in life. Don't think about how and the possible impossibility of attaining what you want, but to just write it down. Big or small. Yes, I'm telling you to be selfish - what fun is wanting something if there's no excitement to it?! DREAM BIG! To really get your mind thinking about all the wonderful things you can begin asking for, she breaks it down into categories so you can think about all the things in your life. They include:
  • Health + Body
  • Career + Work
  • Money
  • Relationships
  • Personal Desires
  • Material Things
Here are a few of my Life Wants from all of the categories listed above:
- To remain healthy
- To be the number one sales agent in my area
- To be able to provide 100% for my family
- To experience constant happiness with all of my relationships
- Meet Chef Gordan Ramsay (!!!!)
- Get a new car

These were just a few from my vast and growing list of Life Wants. There are no right or wrong answers. These are all what I am going to receive or experience. And you can do the same! Are you ready to start your Gratitude Journey?

THANK YOU for letting me share a little bit of my journey with you! When you're feeling up to it and would like to share some of your experiences on your journey, I'd love to hear them!

Amazing Places & Spaces: Casco Bay, Maine

What's great about living so far away from well, all of society, is that going into the "big city" is always like a special treat: You're excited for it, and when you get it, you're pumped. That's totally what it was for us this past weekend. We took a long weekend (last Thursday night to this Monday) and trekked into Portland, Maine and then headed into Little Diamond Island (LDI) with my in-laws on their boat.

Besides the fact that I love Island Life and being at the Cottage, heading out on the boat and cruising around the Bay was really amazing. I'd never done it before. We went under Casco Bay Bridge, saw a huge tanker up close, saw lobster-men doing their thing and I witnessed for the first time the vastness that is the ocean (which was scary and surreal all at once). We even saw the cruise ship coming into dock and some kids chillin' out on those huge buoy's (I know, kids these days, right?!).

Because it was such an amazing time, I thought I'd share some shots I took on the boat on our day-cruise around Casco Bay.

The Beauty of Maine's High Peaks through Real Estate

For people who have never been to the High Peaks Region, getting here can sometimes be like, "Oh. There's nothing here but mountains..." But if you have the inside scoop, the amount of awesomeness will never cease.

I've made some posts about this area here, here, here and here so you can kind of get a feel for all the awesome. But it really takes being here to understand. Sure there's a lot of "nothing", but there is also so much beauty, excitement and entertainment here!

I don't need to mention the skiing at Sugarloaf, the mountain biking at the Outdoor Center, or hiking the AT, or swimming in the Carrabassett River, or kayaking at Flagstaff...all stuff one must do when visiting here! And typically, you can do all this stuff from walking out your front door.

Today I decided to showcase some of the places here in my area that are really quite incredible. No matter what town you live in the High Peaks Region, you just get a whole bunch of awesomeness:

New Ventures/Adventures!

I am so excited to share with you all today that I am *officially* a state of Maine Licensed Real Estate Agent!

I have actually been working on this since January of this year...taking the course...taking the exam...waiting for the license...and now I can help people find and buy their dream home as well as help people sell their home. SO COOL.

I have been working for a small real estate agency in Carrabassett Valley, Maine since last September as an Office Manager, Marketing & Social Media Manager. And now I'm a Sales Agent!

You can visit our website here: www.sugarloafarearealestate.com to get a feel of where we are in Maine's High Peaks, and to see the homes we currently offer!

My boss, and the Designated Broker of Sugarloaf Area Real Estate has been selling homes for many years (think: several decades!!) and knows the ins and outs of the business. He has been rooting for me since 2013 to get my license, and has supported me every step of the way. I am so excited to be in this business because of him!

If you're interested in contacting me about any properties you see on the website, you can do that HERE, or visit our website for full contact information! And if you're in the Carrabassett Valley area and are thinking about selling your home, you can also contact me to get the process started.

l8estobsession.com: Quote of the Day
If this isn't the truest thing ever said, I don't know what is. <3
